SILKE is an internationally recognized visual artist, specialized in textile and multidisciplinary art. Born in 1943 in Austria, she has lived in Argentina since she was very young.
Many trips and studies that took her around the world awoke in her a holistic view of existence. Guided by fundamental questions: Where do we come from? Who are we? Where are we going? Silke finds in visual expression the ideal opening to "Universal Symbolic Languages". With extensive training in visualizations, connecting to the Universe, she receives the images. Thus, she follows her path, open to new horizons and always alert to the mysteries of life.
Her creativity quickly directed her to Textile Art. The search for a more encompassing language led her to incorporate music, film, multimedia, scenography, words, dance, and immersive experimentation in a fertile confluence of disciplines.
Her thematic cycles can be classified as "timeless": her works “Exteriority- Interiority”, “Rilke”, “The Worlds”, “Andean America”, “Spirituality”, “The 4 Elements”, “The Arcana in Silk” (on this topic she wrote a book), “The Keys of Enoch”, “From Matter to Light”, “We are all One”, “Colour Speaks”… attest to that aspiration.
Throughout her life, she investigates and consciously exercises the phenomenon of the creative process and deepens it by exchanging experiences with creators of almost all artistic expressions. Since the late 1970s, she has been teaching CREATIVITY through workshops, courses, and seminars; some were filmed for an Master Class of Creativity by the film director Teresa Costantini. "The most valuable thing about that search is having found the way to connect with the Universe. „Stop reasoning, let's channel!" she exclaims
Co-author of the book on creativity: "Witnesses or Protagonists. Clues to Develop Creativity".
With this perspective, her works travel the world. She has participated in almost 300 individual and collective exhibitions in Argentina and abroad: Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, United States, Canada, Australia, South Korea, Russia, Finland, Poland, England, Germany, Austria, Israel, Portugal, Spain, where most of her works remain exhibited.
